We are setting up Pisteyo India Private Limited in Hyderabad as our first international hub. The team will remain small (4–6 people initially), highly skilled, and tightly integrated with U.S. leadership through a real-time overlap schedule.
Role Overview
We are hiring an Accountant (U.S.-Facing) who will manage core components of the U.S. books from India. This role is critical to keeping our financial operations accurate, timely, and tightly coordinated across time zones.
You will handle AP/AR, bank reconciliations, monthly closes, basic consolidations, and direct coordination with our U.S. CPA/tax partner. You will also support internal reporting and help build scalable finance processes as we grow.
This is a hands-on, detail-oriented accounting role that blends execution, reporting discipline, and cross-border communication.

Key Responsibilities
1. Core U.S. Accounting Tasks
- Manage Accounts Payable: vendor setup, invoice coding, approvals, posting, payments.
- Manage Accounts Receivable: invoicing, collections follow-up, cash application.
- Perform bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and account clean-ups.
- Handle journal entries, accruals, and prepayments.
2. Monthly Close & Reporting
- Prepare and complete key month-end tasks on a tight, predictable schedule.
- Support monthly closures, financial schedules, and internal reporting packages.
- Maintain supporting documentation for all close activities.
3. Consolidation & Multi-Entity Support
- Support basic multi-entity consolidations (India + U.S.).
- Maintain intercompany schedules and ensure accurate eliminations.
- Track FX impacts and ensure entries reflect multi-currency reality.
4. U.S. Compliance & CPA Support
- Serve as the primary accounting contact for our U.S. CPA/tax firm.
- Provide timely information for tax filings, payroll inputs, 1099/vendor reporting, and regulatory needs.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and clear record-keeping processes.
5. Process Improvement & Systems Work
- Help build and refine SOPs for accounting, payment cycles, and reconciliations.
- Use AI tools to draft SOPs, create checklists, and accelerate routine work.
- Identify gaps, inefficiencies, or risks — and propose improvements.
- Work closely with the Head of Operations on process design and reporting improvements.
Ideal Profile (Experience)
- 3–6 years of accounting experience.
- Strong exposure to U.S. GAAP, international accounting, or U.S.-facing accounting roles.
- Experience with AP/AR, reconciliations, and monthly closes is essential.
- Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero, or similar).
- Experience supporting auditors, CPAs, or tax firms is a plus.
Skills & Capabilities
- Excellent accounting fundamentals.
- Strong attention to detail with a clean, repeatable working style.
- Comfortable with spreadsheets and financial modeling basics.
- Strong written and spoken English for U.S.-facing coordination.
- Ability to manage work independently with predictable follow-through.

Education
